Robin hooded bamboo self nock
« on: September 02, 2013, 05:04:39 pm »
I shortened this arrow from the nock end, so there was no node. My uncle shot another bamboo arrow directly into the nock, and instead of splitting the arrow it just stuck there! Point to nock!  Bamboo is tough stuff, I have never seen that.

Ooooh!  Ouchie!

Since I hate making arrows worse than the Plague, I prefer to spray my arrows all over to prevent such a disaster.  :o  Yup.  That's my story.

I would love to have seen that in slow motion film. Amazing.... at what yardage?

Sleek, it was 10-12 yards

What puondgae is the bow...?  What kind of wrap was there just below the nock.  I use thread then smother it with epoxy or super glue. So far so good..  As long as no injuries were done... :o

10-12 yards, not much time for that arrow to fully recover from being shot. Arrows must be tuned very well to the bow.  Thats whats impressive.

That is why I don't try to shoot groups. Hitting "the spot" is more important.
I'd say that arrow is repairable if you get a notion.
