Osage+ heat = butter
....its not hard at all to bend once good n hot...and osage is the best wood to make extreme heat shapes n bends too for bows...and the number two is a distant second...
#1. Reduce it down to stiff floor tiller
#2. Make the last 6" or so a half inch thick and on one ring
#3. Shellac those ends...all surfaces around the tips
#4. Steam for an hour to make sure its good n hot n pliable
#5. Have everything ready close to the bow steaming, and quickly make your bend all in one swoosh(I use a metal strap behind the belly, some folks don't),and sooner than 30 seconds out of the steaming apparatus. All kinds of things to bend it over...be creative.
#6. Let set till cool ...then repeat step 5 for the other tip
#7. Tiller that bad boy out after letting it set for a couple days
#8. Enjoy shooting your smooooooth sexy static osage recurve
