mahogany?

has anyone here ever used mahogany to make a bow? I haven't heard of it being used as a bow wood, and it's pretty common and cheap at my local stores. I've heard some people say it's too soft, just like poplar, but hey, Ryoon made a poplar bow.

Lots of different types of mahogany, some not true mahoganies. Old growth stuff is supposed to be much denser than modern plantantion grown. That Polish bowyer(I can't think of his name) is pretty good, and has posted some nice bows recently(mainly yew). 
I have never tried mahogany myself, and have usually heard what the other guys have said, in that it can be done, but not recommended.

It is my bow, mahagony wood is with diferent types i used the best african mahagony, bow is very good no crack and a litle string follow

Its a nice looking bow, well tillered, low string follow. Unusual combination, with a locust backing, seems to be doing well. The African Mahogany must be stronger than the South American stuff.

yes is good strong wood, with thys draw, at mahagony didnt seen any chrysals
