Those look great how thick of a shaft do you start out with to make your blunts & about how long is the blunt.

WOW Greg those look great.  :o  I wouldn't want to get any dirt on them.  But I guess a little blood would be in vogue  :-\

Rob, I start with a shoot as fat at the point end as I want the blunt to be, some 1" or more and some less, then reduce the shaft from the nock end to the blunt. For length they are a few inches longer, 30" to 33" to account
for the taper at the blunt end.

Yeah Bill, I shoot mine at small game but the clean one in the picture was a gift to my brother a couple years ago
and he won't shoot it, says its too pretty to mess up or break.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Thanks Dan
Thanks Bub

Shaped a bone point this evening, got the slot cut and the arrow reduced and cut to length. I'm satisfied with the point, it is not a sharpened edge but the intended purpose of this arrow is to be a small game blunt. Next comes a  final straightening then pitch glue and sinew.

I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.
