Bows you keep going back to look at
« on: August 21, 2013, 02:36:18 pm »
There are at least half dozen bows that I actually dig up the old threads to look at every so often.

I bet other folks do the same, and I though it might be a nice trip down memory lane to post the links to some.  I'll post one now cause, I'm short on time and more later.

This sinew backed juniper by Mikekeswick is a style and a tiller that I think are absolutely top shelf.  One day I'm going to give this a go... when I have time and the right stave of juniper.

If you have one or two bows that you find yourself going back to check out, maybe post a link here and we can all drool.

Your plum bow sticks in my mind Gabe. I love that bark.

Most anything by Gordon does it for me and Conrad Voegler.

For me it is anything Simon or Rich makes.  Those two make entirely different bows but I love the work both do, both are masters in my book.

:) Nothing wrong with staring at your own rack...

Didn't expect to see my bows on peoples list.

There are so many awesome bows from the way back machine on this site.  Anybody remember this bad boy?

Wow!  Zion and dbb, you both just posted the two Simson bows that i like to always go back to!

I cant seem to find the link now, but Gordon made a beautiful wavy yew bow from a stave Keenan gifted him that one really got me.
"The bow is the old first lyre,
the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso
