sinew wraps...before or after tru-oil finish???
« on: August 16, 2013, 11:01:56 pm »
Hi there,
I am near finishing stage of an osage self bow that has 3 places I want to wrap with sinew for security (grub hole and 2 nail holes).
Should I finish with tru-oil first or after the sinew dries?
Thanks, Doob

I'd put the sinew on first and then the truoil to protect it.

Yup, after.  The one time I did sinew wraps, I even roughed up the would a touch with some 100 grit sandpaper where the wraps would cover.
