I sure would like to see some info on how you do this. I have a finished bow that I want to do something with. Bark backing sounds more unique than snakeskins to me. If you can throw some pictures up when you're done I would really apprieciate it!

Check the build along and how to page.  There's a nice cherry bark backing tutorial.

I just posted the bow, i striped the bark into pieces with one fairly flat side. :) covered the back of the bow with glue then layer the strips on slightly over lapping (next time I will soak the strips before hand) let dry and then glue down any lose  spots with super glue, scrape the bark down until desired thickness, then sand allowing dust to build up in gaps which are then filled with super glue. Sand again, dust it off, spray on Polly

Did you sand off the poly?  I had an elm bow that lifted a splinter on a small pin knot on the back.  Used TB3 to glue on a rawhide backing, and never thought to remove the poly that was applied while the stave seasoned.  Got about 2 arrows through it before the poly let loose, and I pulled the whole backing off by hand.  The glue held good, but the poly... not so much :)
