reel advice.
« on: August 09, 2013, 07:30:00 pm »
A budy of mine has a modern bow fishing reel but wants me to make him a short bow for it. I am thinking short wide and recurved. Probably black locust because I have a 2 inch wide stave. What's the best way to design a bow for a reel to mount to?

build it with a stiff riser and install a insert below the grip

I welded a 5/16 nut to a piece of steel strap. Glued on a couple of leather pieces to go between bow and strap so it wouldnt scratch my bow, then taped on with electrical tape.... Brian
