Playing with Osage alittle

Took this little split off to play around with it the tiny little bow is 34 inchs long being drawn to 22 inchs again this is not a serious bow just playing around I'm guessing 40# at 22 inchs but don't see a reason to weight it really

Osage is one awesome wood but be careful!!  A pic with wood sticking in your neck may not be good for your health

Well so instead of breaking under tension it just delaminated... Hmm

Is that the neutral plain in there?   
 You got a good bend from that piece of osage. With a little sinew and upturned tips it could have been a killer bow.

Yea it could've been but I made this one to break  lol I shot it about 50 times before I broke it so I still had a little fun with it

What does the early growth rings look like? Thick or thin? How is the ratio between early and late rings?  Inquireing minds want to know!
