Wow! Those came out great, Buddy. I wish there was going to be time to get them bloody before you leave. And, that was some of the strongest pitch glue I've ever seen.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Yeah really strong stuff but talk about a pain in the A$$ to use ! I eventually came up with the method of dripping it into the grove in the shaft using a lighter and immediately pushing the stone into it. Once the point was seated I added more pitch and smoothed it down with a really hot knife !

Did the Native Americans think about all this that much or just do it?

Very nice and very effective looking arrows. Thanks for posting all those pics. The detail makes it easy for the new guys to see how a head should be made and mounted and how to align and attach fletching. Well done!!!   8)

That is one sweet batch of arrows and points!! :P

Very attractive and effective- looking set of arrows and points. That Flint River point looks like it already has blood on it.

Those are  :o :) Goal for this winter is to make half dozen like that. Simple and very beautiful. Deer will be chasing you to be shot by one of those ;)
Nice work, What do points that size weigh btw?

First off, those are beautiful.

I have 2 questions
1. What is the purpose of that longer tag on the front of you feathers? I assume it doesn't vibrate but it looks like it would.

2. Which one is going in the bow first??  ;)

I really dont think the little tags on the fronts of the feathers serve any purpose other than looking cool. Like they say in the military looking cool is half the battle ! 8)

I wish I could give you a grain weight but since I dont have a scale I cant tell ya. what I can say is that when these arrows were complete they weighed suprisingly little. When I was first making these arrowheads I thought they would be too big however now that I see them hafted on the arrows I dont think I would hunt with any much smaller. I already have a very long draw length so naturally these arrows are long as well, I am hoping my bow-in-progress hits 65# to really sling these babies !
