Bark tanned Salmon skin grip
« on: August 04, 2013, 12:34:11 pm »
I redid the grip on this osage bow in preparation for hunting season. I did not tan the skin, but it was bark tanned and has the look and feel of leather- not too thin nor fragile. The skin side has a nice rough texture. The arrow pass is wrapped with silk thread. Also pictured are my hunting arrows this year. some are bamboo, others sitka spruce. heads are mostly obsidian, except one Danish Flint, front and center.

Nice looking stuff you got there. I'll have to try to tan some fish skins this yr. Good luck hunting. Less than a month and we can chase the deer and elk. Ed
