Is this the end of my favorite bow???
« on: August 04, 2013, 12:36:28 am »
I recently finished a nice hickory longbow. the bow is 69 inches long, and was made from a sapling. I did however notice one small chrysal mark near the tip of one of the limbs. I shot it several times after finding it, and it doesn't seem to have changed. From what I understand chrysals aren't good, but it doesn't seem like too much of a threat. What do y'all think?

is the limb bending that far out? If the tips arent bending, there shouldnt be crysals. With a bow that long, you should have stiff thin tips anyway. Post a pic of it.

I don't have a good pic', but it does have quite a bit of string follow. I thought that string follow was pretty normal for native american style "d" bows though...
