Looks fine as long as you work with the knot. Leave some meat on it and follow its grain over the back and along the side.

It's all down to one ring. There's a little of the other ring left around it. I scraped the crap out of it with a razor blade. The ring I chased is 1/8+ so I hope that has enough meat

There's a definete bow in that piece of Osage that knot will look really good anyways the thickness in the handle will determine its self during tillering there's no set thickness for it

I just finished a 53" ntn bendy handle osage. I believe it was right at .70" at the handle.  It is 1.3" wide with flip about 2.25" of tips flipped. It turned out 54# @ 26" and took 1/2 set through the working section of the limb.  The tips are still 1.75" reflexed past the handle.  It's not sinew backed.

from what i can see in the first pic, it looks like you have five or more rings to go down before removing that damaged top of the limb, how thick is that stave?

The ring is all chased now. Its about 1" in the center to around 3/4" in the tips. Time for the rasp and razor blade

So this is where I'm at. Parts are bending some less than others. Scrape scrape scrape  :embarassed:

Any tips or advice. Plz fill me in. My first bow. Going for 50# at ?? Long as I can get. How I think in doing?

No love? Or advice. I'm still working on it regardless. I come from hard Knox, sometimes u just gotta learn the hard way. I've done a lot of research so it's like studying for a test right? It's bending better now but still a lot of lean to do so, I don't want to stress it too much. I want to temper the belly. Just roast it like some chestnuts? Or ?? Lol
