Walnut bow (full draw added)
« on: August 01, 2013, 09:39:29 pm »
Simple black walnut bow 60 some odd inchs long I forgot. Coming in around 53@25   And about 59 pounds a 27. It was a breeze to make. This is my first walnut bow befor I started it I almost got discouraged as I researched other people's experience with it and Most people seemed to say it Chrysaled easily But that wasn't my experience I think walnut is top notch bow wood and is over looked wayyyy to much I encourage every one to try it it's awesome bow wood and beautiful

Full draw to come hopefully tommorow when it stops raining And again sorry for the crappy pics

Couple pointy pin knots on the back

Awesome!  Love Walnut!  nice job on that one.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Cool looking bow - I like the transition of wood colors from the back through the handle.
Enjoy the hunt!  Mitch

Yea it turned out looking really cool it almost looks like the heart wood in the handle is glued on and each sapwood ring is a different shade

That's a sweet looking bow. I really like the contrast between the sapwood and heartwood too.
