Mystery Bama chert

Finally got around to knapping some mystery chert I found under a trussel bridge in north central alabama.  I dont think it was native, it had been quarried somewhere and hauled in and dumped to support the bridge. most was fractured really bad but I got a few good spalls that I brought home, heat treated and knapped.  really slick, really tough and really sharp.  Some of the highest quality chert I have ever put my hands on... wish I knew what is "was".

Can't help you with i.d. on them rocks, but the points are perty.

Reminds me of skyline tree camo the way it is marked. Really nice points! I'd be alright with just being a mystery if my points turned out like that.

Looks like the same rock used on the old Katy railroad here in Oklahoma , I've gathered some of it and tried to figure out where it came from .

Hey, that's some of that green trussel bridge chert.  I'd recognize it anywhere.   >:D

We got white trussel bridge chert out here.  It's great stuff too.
