Thank you Gun Doc
« on: July 28, 2013, 10:36:34 pm »
Gun Doc is all over the US but this weekend he was in Phoenix AZ. My son happens to live in Phoenix and I just traded his buddy a stave to build his first bow. So I set up a meeting between the three of them for a bow build lesson. Thank you Josh for helping the two service men out.

Hey Josh, you could have a traveling bow shop in the back of your cab! Nice of you to help out.

John, it was truly my pleasure!  I enjoyed meeting them and talking bow making.  I only hope that I was a help to em.  That was a beauty of a stave that you sent him.  I didn't have any more luck chiselin it out of him than I did when I tried to chisel it out of you!  Lol!  Josh

Cody, you might say that i do have a mobile archery shop jammed in here!  I barely got room to stretch out in here!  Lol!

Couldn't get any better instruction.  Nice work Dad!

That was very nice of you, Doc. Do you ever draw a crowd while bow building in those public areas?
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

This kinda stuff is definitely one of the hidden "bennys" of driving OTR.  It is just flat out awesome to travel around and meet folks of similar mindset from all over the country.  If I get to be a part of making converts to primitive out of em, so much the better!   Kenny, that happens all the time.  Truckdrivers that are stuck out on the road and away from home are always looking for entertainment where they can find it.  Many a time, I've been whittling away and look up to see a half a dozen drivers standing around trying to figure out what I'm doing.  Thanks again for the opportunity John and thank you for the kind words fellas! Josh
