Still raining so I took a shot at the point of the month.  But, my turkey tail turned out to look a lot more like a dove tail to me so I'm posting it here instead of over there.



When I heat treated this rock it broke up terribly.  I'm shocked there was a point in it, but there were/are dips and dings all over it.  Left it serrated; not sure why, but I got the edge nice and thin and it was very sharp.  Didn't think I could improve on it.

Paul, sure would love to see a few cowboy points.  They're so much better than anything I can ever hope to do.   Sadly, my ability to break up perfectly good rock is not at all rusty.   ::)

I'm still kickin over here my friend.  Thanks all.  I got bored waiting for some glue to dry in the shop today and decided to try the other half of that spall that started this thread.  Man is that some tough old rock.  I fought an island in the middle of it clear to the end and finally knocked it off.  Had to really bring the base in so I could knock a flute into the island.  The point should have been twice this wide, flat across the base, and thinner than it turned out.  O well, at least I didn't break it.
