Sign of a good couple of weeks?

I call the carnage left behind a bow making or string making project a bone pile.  Anyone else out there take satisfaction in a bone pile at the end of the day?  We had a cool front (lower humidity too) in early July and another one came through this week.  I took advantage of the evenings to chase rings on some Osage.   Since the first of the month I have successfully chased the rings on six staves. 

The resulting bone pile has accumulated off the porch in a landscaping bed.  I took satisfaction in the depth and coverage of this pile.    Yeah, I know fresh wood shavings kill plants and need to be seasoned.  I will eventually move these off, but that didn’t stop me from admiring the bone pile!

OK, you asked for it.  I've been working on mine for a lot longer.  A rabbit lives under it.  I scare it off every time I add more to the pile.

Swamp Monkey, After I rough out a bow I like to save all the shavings and dust from rasping and put them in a bucket.  Its amazing to see how much you actually remove to find the finished bow inside of a stave.  And I hate a messy floor so I sweep it up about every 10 minutes.  Might be why it takes me so long to finish a bow  ::)

Mine is kinda every where, I recently took the majority of it away for another "project" one match and thirty seconds later the flames were twelve to fifteen feet tall, lit up the area like daylight.

That is one lucky rabbit.  Not because of the habitat you supply, but the restraint you show in not shooting him.

Yep love them also,got them all over the shop from Osage and assorted wood metal and rock. :) We only clean it up when it gets where we can't walk or need something to get the fire going. :)
