thanks guys, this thing has more curves than Marilyn Monroe, and as I proceed they get more pronounced, may be a good thing. hmmm maybe another name could be Marilyn? ;) but it needs to survive first. I will post more pics soon. continuing with the rasping, I too am getting dizzy at times :) filled in some of the drying checks with CA glue, but need to buy new mine is getting too thick. bow is starting to bend and will be working on the floor tiller tomorrow. ohma2, doubt it will turn out as good as Gordons, but that is a lofty goal to strive for. will keep you all postd on the progress.

spent some of the afternoon chasing "islands" because of the wavy profile I was working on leaving enough wood in the deflex curves so as not to cause a hinge, conversley, I wanted to remove wood on the deflex curves to even out the bend. stave is starting to bend decent, I shortened the stave to have less twist in the limb tips, the stave is now 68" which is a good length for this so as not to overstress it at a 28" draw. will continue to go slow and test bend often, wont be long I can try a long string on it and put it on a tiller tree. the stave master is very helpful in working this stave, holds it well and can change angles with ease. thanks Keenan.

Bet this stave is schooling you pretty good, challenging to the end.

It almost looks like someone pressed this tree against a corrugated tin shed as it was growing up.  Whoo-eeei!  What a ride!

it is strange in that the bumps are at a angle across the stave which is probably better than being horizontal, but it is challenging. I have high hopes for this stave, the other gave me my first primitive elk.
