Broken bow tip spoon
« on: July 05, 2013, 11:45:09 pm »
I had this broken bow Layin around so I turned the static tip into a spoon I've already used it a bunch of times the bow itself was a pretty odd bow it was backed with doggone rawhide yet still failed made from Osage of course. I carved the bowl part of the spoon with a 1/4 and 1/2 inch chisel and basically rasped the spoon into shape over all I don't think it turned out to bad

 Here's the bow

Beautiful grain!

If you can get an old carbon steel paring knife you can heat and make a spoon knife fairly easily.

Love it! I've recycled into pressure flakers before, but may have to give it a go with utensils.

Nice example of recycling :D
