My first primitive arrows
« on: July 04, 2013, 06:12:36 pm »
I decided that I am going to try hunting with stone points this year so I made myself up some primitive arrows. The points are obsidian and the shafts are Douglas fir - I got both from Carson at Echo Archery. And I learned how to haft the points by watching Carson's excellent YouTube video:

For my first attempt I'm pleased with them.

Whoo Hoo!  First?!! :o :o :o  Man those are beautiful! 8)

I would think the Deer, and or Elk, should be jostling for position to be the first shot with those!  That would be considered a distinct honor for them! ;)

Those turned out sweet, Gordon. I hope you get a bigun this season with one. That's on my bucket list, too!

With those in your wolverine quiver and teamed up with one of your bows! ...If I were an elk, I would just surrender.

Great job.

Those turned out real nice Gordon.  I can't take credit for the points, those points were knapped by Stringman, I am just the dealer ;)  But thanks for the compliments on the video.  I hope you bag another one this year Gordon!
