Glue-on point taper question

This might seem obvious to some, but I can't seem to to figure out which taper to use for the glue on field points. I have a Bearpaw taper tool with two different tapers. Which is for points and which is for nocks? For reference please use short and pointier or long and less pointy to describe the difference. :D Thanks!

Uuuhhh.... I didn't know you tapered for self nocks ;)
Based on my limited experiance with glue-on nocks, the shorter taper(its pointier) is for nocks, the longer, less pointy one is for the point. Most points use a 5 degree taper, and I think nocks use a 10 degree taper.

I am interested in points, not nocks. I want to make some nice target arrows for my nephew and the bow I'm making him for his 13th birthday. I will do self nocks.

Use the long taper for points.

The long taper(for points is 5deg and the short taper(for nocks) is 11deg.

Is it not the other way around long taper 11 deg for points and 5 deg for nocks? Or have I now confused myself?

11 degrees is a steeper angle than 5 degrees, therefore making 11 the shorter taper. It is a little confusing but Pats got it right.

The field point will only fit properly on one of the tapers.  If in doubt, taper a piece of scrap to remind yourself which end is which.

I marked the blade ends of my bearpaw with a sharpie for nock or point tapers...
