Tomato Stakes

I've heard a few people here say they have used tomato stakes for arrows. I went bought some from the depot but they all were prepacked. i did the best in picking through but I'm not sure about these things. I'm pretty new at making my own primitive arrows. So I was hoping someone had some pics of there successful tomato stake arrows so I could get and idea what to shoot for. ( no pun intended )

Those look pretty good. How do they shoot ? The Home Depot Garden center here has them loose so I can often sort through them.

cane and bamboo is the only type of arrow shaft I use.  I like how they fly.

There's nothing wrong with wood arrows, but once the cane bug bites you, you're pretty much hooked on them, save the occasional shoot arrow.

If you don't have access to good bamboo or cane, the garden center stakes are an "excellent value".
If they will let you sort through them that's a +. I keep 8 and 10mm open end box wrenches in my glove box just for that purpose.
