Lil' Bit of Bodark
« on: June 19, 2013, 02:12:32 pm »
Had a Strong Urge to name this one "Sting"... :)
But decided to leave the naming to the fine young Man it was made for.

My Current interpretation of an eastern woodlands design...
Updated with a bit of Pyramid and a wee bit of bulbous grip...

She's 52 inches nock to nock.
28# and change at 26 inches.
Tillered to 31# at 28" for safety's sake.
She started with two inches of reflex, kept about an inch, and looks about even just after being unstrung.
Finished with ten coats of Tru-Oil and Carnuba Wax.
Grip wrap and strike plate are Roo Leather and Lace.
String is Eight strands of B-50.
Half inch Tips, 3/8" at the nocks, Overlays are American Buffalo.
She's light as a Feather in hand.

I've got a hundred and one arrows through her and she thumps them in right where I'm looking.
All's left is to build a bow case for her and soak her in the light of the coming Full Moon and she'll be ready to go.

I'll get a Full Draw pic up this evening when my Picture Taker gets home... :)

Thank You Mr Half Eye, I borrowed your tip design.
Thank You Mr Bubby, I borrowed your tape idea for sizing the grip.

Thanks for looking.

I see a happy youngster in my crystal ball.
Nice work!

Beautiful Gus!

Sweet little shooter!   8)

Nice job, Gus. She looks sweet!!
