Fathers day fishing trip
« on: June 15, 2013, 10:13:26 pm »
Since I have to work tonight and tomorrow I took my son and my dad fishing today at a friends pond.  We had a great time.  The sun was out and the fish were biting.  My son caught 4 before I had the first bite.  The pond is only 3-4 years old so we left the bass and bluegill.  I would have loved to have a stringer full of those fat hybrids.  He overstocked on catfish so we kept those.  After we cleaned them we relaxed in the pool for a while before I had to head to work.  Not a bad way to spend fathers day.

We're fixin' to have a fish fry for lunch tonight.  My coworkers are going to miss the meals I bring in once I go to dayshift.  I want to bring in a mess of frog legs before I make the switch to days.

We were catching these guys on catfish hooks!

Dad caught this cat on a rubber nightcrawler.

I thought about it.  I looked them over pretty close but decided to wait for some longer ones.

Thanks alot Clint! >:(  Its midnight and you just gave me a severe case of the munchies! ::) ;D. It looks like you guys had a good time.  I had planned on doing the same this weekend, but it didn't  work out.  I was on my way home from PA when the boss called and told me not to go past Kansas city.  I gotta get a load there Monday  and take it to Portland OR.  That sure threw a wrench in the works! >:(  On the bright side, maybe I'll be able to poach some vine maple while I'm out there!  >:D.  Josh

If you swing by here we have leftovers.  Did you notice my stylish hat?  The top of my head is about the only thing that didn't get burnt today.  Thanks again for the noggin cover.  Good luck with the VM.
