If you are blowing past your target weight with the rasp, maybe you need to switch to scraper or sanding block earlier in the tillering process?
I agree completely. I get in a hurry when I get some free time and a few strokes and I have screwed it up.
I have a knife for a scraper and haven't been using a sanding block at all. I better get a better set up and slow it down. Thanks folks.
I think I floor tiller too light to begin with too and don't leave enough wiggle room by the time the limbs are even.

Got her done! Lots of work into it but it was fun. If I was an experienced bowyer I would say way too much time but since I am new and just experimenting and learning, I am happy with it.
ERC lamination cue to my overzealous tillering  :o
Still only came in at 36# at 25" with a slightly positive upper limb tiller but I like to shoot it. Seems pretty snappy but what do I know?
Had 6" reflex before lamination and was real light, and 1" after lam with 0 after brace.
Osage tips, 4 layers sinew, buckthorn bark over the sinew and sinew wraps cause I don't trust my lamination so much.
Sisal twine handle
Hope you like. I think it is time to try some simple self bow ;D

She turned out nice, db.

Nicely done DB, good lookin bow, good save and good for not givin up on it. PS: dont sell 36# bows short. Pope tested NA bows and one in particular was an Apache bow drawing just under 30#. and Apache's were real good at what they did,eh?

Right on Half eye, Wouldn't argue with the Apache  ;). I guess 36# could do plenty of damage in the right hands.
