Yeah, tell me about it!  I reached over to adjust the jesses on our great horned owl yesterday morning without first showing her my hand....she gave me such a dirty look and clamped down on the glove hard enough to leave bruises on my hand!   I accept the fact that she hates me, that will never change.  But she trusts me and will stand on glove while I walk around a classroom full of kids, she knows I will keep her safe.  And that means the world to me.

Great horned owls, by the way, can produce 29 lbs of pressure with each of their 8 talons. Do the math.  When in difficult times they have been known to take foxes as prey.  They weigh 3-3.5 lbs and take out a 12 lb predator?
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I've seen Redtails catch Rabbits/squirrels and snakes several times, when I am bushhogging in the fall they set in the trees on the edge looking for supper. Pretty cool to watch for me,not the critters they catch. :) Wonder if they know snakes are protected in Tennessee. ??? ;) :)
