Any Southern Maine bowyers or am I it?
« on: June 06, 2013, 09:44:26 am »
I asked this once before about a year or so ago but I figured with a year in between maybe someone has shown up.  So, any bow makers in the Greater Portland area of Maine?

Guess I am it.  Damn that sucks.  Oh well.  Just a high learning curve for me I guess.

Mike, are you going to the Pokenhope in Durham.Lord willing I will be there. I belong to the Maine Traditional Archers. I like to think of myself as a bowyer though back problems have slowed that down a bit.  Jawge

For about 3 weeks last year I was in southern Maine . . . so at least for a brief time you had company!  Nice country with a lot more bow wood than here in Nebraska!

Stim Wilcox, author of The Art of making Self Bows, lives in Maine. Not southern, but on the coast. He goes to the shoot Jawge mentioned. I went to school in Orono, but haven't been back in a while. Great state!!

yeah, I've known of Stim Wilcox.  But he is a hell of a distance from me. And can't make it to Pokenhope, Gawge, the wife won't be home that weekend and I got the kids.
