actually leaves in young trees are pretty similar...but the fruit of red mulberry is really sweet and should be loaded with fruit now.

You have a mulberry for sure - which one is a good question.  Here is a good publication to help you distinguish between the two species.  It is not an easy task!  Mulberry trees are dioecious (male and female trees) with only the female trees producing fruit.  Either way the wood makes good bows!

Great researcher that wrote the publication. Sally knows her stuff! She taught my dendrology course at Purdue.
Looking at the leaf margins it could be white, but Richard pointed out the obvious if it is a female look at the fruit coloration. Picture of the bark would be excellent.
Either way it is bow wood. Good luck and have fun!

I had a handful of fresh red mulberries(they're ripe when black) this morning.

 Thanks guys, this is from a young sapling, no fruit yet and the bark is just young smooth bark. Now I'll just have to wait and see.
