Just went by the post office today and picked up a package. Long slender tube coming from the pacific north west. Inside was an absolute gorgeous bow of vine maple made by Gordon. This thing is an absolute piece of art. Immaculate. The detail that went into every aspect of it is simply stunning. I am beyond ecstatic for having received it. My past few weeks have been a little crazy and I've not been on here much. My dad spent a week in the hospital with health issues a few weeks ago and hasn't really been able to return to work yet which has left me busy trying the run the shop on my own. I had to make it here to post my excitement though. Gordon, this thing is absolutely perfect in every aspect. Shot it just a few times with some arrows that were too short for full draw but the only ones I had laying around and it is a screamer. I don't have any pictures of myself with it as I only have my camera phone at the moment and that will not do it justice. For those of you who have not seen it yet here's a link Gordon posted.
http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,39933.0.htmlAgain, words can't begin to describe my joy on having received this. It has certainly lit a fire under me to try and achieve the best bow I can make for my recipient, though I believe it will pale in comparison to this beautiful bow. I've gone from a guy who thinks he makes wooden bows to a guy who feels like he just plays with his wood stash in his shop. Truly an inspiring and humbling experience to hold such a magnificent weapon.
Thank you again, sir. Stunning work.
