Arrow eye candy

Not primitive, but I thought I would share these traditional arrow pics.  Just finished up two dozen for a local guy.

Rob, it is actually burned rather than stained. I really like the way it looks. The depth it creates doesn't show well in the pics, but the scorching shrinks/burns the soft layers and just darkens the hard layers in the fir.  It really shows off the grain.

Toasted shafts, niiiiice!  Eye candy, indeed.

I like making arrows in double dozens, gives me time to get used to shooting a matched set before they are all used up or lost!

These were for another guy.  He wanted 18, but I thought I would make a full two dozen and keep 6 for myself.  But making two dozen at once got me thinking that I might start doing that everytime.  2 times as many arrows and it only takes 1 1/2 times as long to make them....I wonder if Indians thought much about the Economy of scale... ::)

Those arrows are smokin' hot, very nice Carson. They look so perfectly crafted that I bet they are gonna shoot to hit the mark. :)
