Unfortunately I didn't tan the hides. I bought them from an outfit here in Minnesota. Eventually I'll get around to tanning some.

that is way cool i love how you have the bow sheath attached to the quiver were did you find the pattern or did you just work it out your self. i will have to try to do this with my next coyote.

I didn't use a pattern. I figured if the native Americans never did then I wouldn't need too. Most of my stuff is just built through the natural shape of the materials or by eye. The bowcase and quiver combination has been used by the plains nations for decades. I want to try my hand at one from a mountain lion but I don't have thousands of dollars for the hide, someday hopefully.

very nice work!  a quiver that can actually keep your back warm while hiking around in the snow too!
when i'm working on things my ancestors worked, singing the songs my ancestors sang, dancing the same dances, speaking the same language, only then  I feel connected to the land, THIS land, where my ancestors walked for thousands of years...

Eye popping.  I really like what you did with that head on the bow case.  There is a lot of work in there.  Thanks for sharing.

I've been seeing some of your accumulation of gear scripted after plains Sioux, and I see you mention your from Minnesota.Have you ever checked out Frontier Trade Era Goods in Cosmos,Minnesota owned by Chuck Litzeau. He's has an unbelievable amount of items for sale & raw material too.

Very COOL!
Inspires me to try and make something similar, although I think it would be very hard for me to make one as beautiful.
