My ForresterWoodshafts won't break!
« on: May 13, 2013, 07:59:45 pm »
OK.....I test shot some arrows I made from Maple, Leopardwood, and red Balau with my 60# longbow and only 125 gr points.  At 12 yards, I shattered granite but bounced my arrows off the cement block. Only damage to the arrows were blunt field points! My daughter will try to you tube it.  So fun to do on mothers day.

Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I thought that about my poplar shafts until I clipped a limb and the nick end of the shaft whipped into another branch..... Snapped near perfectly just ahead of the fletching.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

I feel very evil... I took some 3 /16 steel rod and made myself some nasty crossbow darts. 4 inches long, soldered fletches...
I seriously doubt you can break those.

Since I don't shoot a crossbow I doubt I could break them either,  ???I am talking about a real bow and arrow not a crossgun and dart. >:D >:D  ;) :) Like Eddie's
