I have never worked quartz before, but I did find a few crushed pebbles in the drive way. I took a pebble that was 1 1/2"x 1"x 3/4, just to mess with. I knapp abo, and it took very precise, measured percussion to get it to flake. I finished it with a small antler tine. I didn't think that I could have made anything out of it, but it worked out OK  :laugh:

Well it looks like you did a great job. You can Bipolar the round cobbles into working spalls. This will give you very fast Reduction with maybe two hits that get a good spall to work.
