THX for the answers and responses.....We're gonna go with black locust and cherry backed with hickory.........OK a question???? If we glue in some reflex on the tips, what thickness does the locust or cherry need to be and do we need to floor tiller the wood before the glue-up??? ALSO can we build a 62" bow if only drawn to 27"????  Thank you, Don and Skyler

thats what I did do though. I glued the handle onto the belly, as normally I would. Its thicker in the center then anyplace on the bow, its bends right from the fades, and not the handle. What I meant to convay was my hand was placed on the handle and I was floor tillering. Im guess now that my mistake was to do this at such an early stag, and not leaving the gleu on long enough. It seems to hold now that its in the tillering stick. But i had to use a LOT more glue.

Im going to try to get another digicam and post some pics. Cause this bow is going to be a spitfire!!
