46 incher!
« on: May 04, 2013, 10:05:59 pm »
How y'all doing. This is my latest bow. It's 46" ttt, bendy handle osage self bow. She's pulling 50 lbs st 25" with self nocks. It has a 1" handle going to 1.75" at the fades, runs parallel and tapers to 3/8" at the tips. This stave had the prop twisted, which took a lot of time with the heatgun to untwist. The design was drawn on the back with a primitive sharpie and sealed with several coats of true oil. The handle is scrap leather glued on with gorilla glue. Truth be told I could have spent more time with the finish, but I can live with it   Its the sweetest shooting bow I've made. No hand shock, and a nice smooth draw and fast. Thanks for looking. Feed back is welcome and appreciated.

Forgot to mention the tips are flipped and it only taken about an inch of set.

Like it! But it seems to be bending a bit much in the handle.

I made the handle 6" long I think if I would've shorten it hy an inch or so it might have stiffened it up a bit. But thats okay, learn something new with each bow....and each one is getting better.

Nice! I think the tillers fine, it has to bend hard in the handle to get that kind of draw! Most impressive.

x2 I think you have every bit of that one working. Looks great and that is an impressive draw for that length bow.

Cool little bow. That's a good tiller and don't think otherwise.

It's only 46" long. Where would you like it to bend more??
