No worries of the nock breaking. If you look close , there is very little carved away for the string. It's all smoke and mirrors. When carving high relief you leave vulnerable bits reinforced. The inside of the mouth is actually quite stout . the reinforcing bit is painted black so as to make it "disappear" I have braced it many times with the push pull method with full confidence. I've even clumsily whacked the nocks around in the shop a few times before all was said and done. The Pau Amarillo is fairly hard and durable.I'm not saying it couldn't break, but with reasonable care there shouldn't be a problem(doesn't need to braced by virgin lambs born under the sign of Venus )
