I got this piece of jasper (I think its jasper) from a rock shop. Worked it into this preform but thought that since its got some really cool colors I'd ask some of you more experienced guys what point you'd make.

That is some awesome looking stone. What about a Cahokia point?

I would find a style to your area and try to recreate that!  Cahokia is ok if u need help finding a point go to projectilepoints.net go to your state and run down the list.  Or make what you feel like making, notch, stemmed etc...I like agee..

Well here it is. Not to happy with it. I went with what Russ said and made one from the high plains region (i grew up in Wyoming) a Buffalo Gap. The thing started to hinge on me as I was making my last pass on one side.
This stuff is kind of a tough rock to handle. You have to attack it pretty aggressively but you have to be spot on when you do hence some of the hinges I think.
Thanks for looking and for all the replays.
Mark
p.s. My phone camera doesn't do the colors any justice.

I'd call that "success" and then tie it to an arrow!! Good job!
