I don't know if it really belongs in this forum, but I made these yesterday. The atlatl is hickory, and the dart shaft is wild rose with a dogwood foreshaft. After tweaking the dart a little, I have made it so that it will shoot 75 yds. I was very surprised at the power and distance that this weapon is capable of, it hits like a hammer at short range! I also made these pitch sticks today. The picture isn't very good, sorry

Cool!  There's some more atlatl threads in the ooga booga section.  They certainly do have some penetration power.  I put a dart through a wrecked prius door at the junkyard.  If I never hit anything with a dart again I'll be satisfied!  Ugly darn cars!  Lol!  Josh
