Shark Skins?
« on: April 27, 2013, 10:48:00 am »
This Summer I'll be doing some offshore fishing and I'll probably end up catching several sharks.  I was wondering if there was any interest in shark skins on here.  I was thinking about keeping one for myself to make grips out of and such.  Of course I'll eat the fish too.  The species that are most likely to be caught are black tips and sharpnose sharks.  They're basically gray to a tan sandy color.

This is my Irish friend I took out and got him his first shark.  He's addicted to shark fishing now

Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

Cool.... try it.Hope the skin is'nt too thick but then a person can always sand it thinner.Better than throwing it away.

I'd love to have some sharkskin.  I am sure I can find something I can do with it!  For that matter, I'd love to try some on the plate, too.  In fact, I'd even like to catch it myself.

Ok, I've argued myself into it, I wanna come down and go fishing with you.

Haha come on down man.  This Summer I should be doing a lot of fishing.  I could borrow my dad's kayak  for you.

South Dakota.... That's really really far!  When I'm wealthy I will keep that in mind.  Should only be a few years until then. :D

Man I miss shark fishing so bad. I still have my ugly sticks and my Penn 302, and Diawa 10 aut. JW, when ya catch one, gut em instantly, or they pee through their skin and make the meat taste bad. I still have the jaws from my first shark too....

JW, I'll bring you some tanned shark skin to the Classic. If you come down to fish with Tim you can grab one of the two kayaks I have.
