Has anyone on here tried out boxelder (also known as ash-leaf maple) for arrows?

Its a bit weak and breaks easily. at least the shoots do. split timber shafts are decent, its sort of like poplar, but slightly harder.

If you have access to any poplar use it first. boxelder is brittle as glass. then again my experiece is climbing and cutting them down. could be its 10x stronger when dry.

box elder makes a great spindle and a decent hearth board for firestarting.
but its very weak wood in my experience

You can make an arrow from almost any wood.
Keep that in mind
