two piece take down...

well, ive been hankering to make one for a bit now.
seems like an undertaking but reckon it will work out...or not
good experience either way right?

so now to round up the wood for this project.
wayne has two halves of two different broken osage bows.
what yall think about using them?
or should i start with new clean billets?

sure the heck aint gonna cut a perfectly good long osage stave in half!

I'm all for recycling broken bows and making them into something functional, if at all possible.  I say go for it!! 

I seem to recall someone did something similar with limbs of two different woods - the name Frankenbow springs to mind...

use the two bows Sadie, are ya gonna buy a sleeve set, glass it like this months mag or spend $5 on a pipe nipple like I did?

I have done 2 with broken bows,they will work fine if you have enough in the handle area to make the fit ,I use the sleeve system.

gonna use the sleeve set up.
thought that would be the best way for my first.
ordered a set from my pal Mike Horton @ the nocking point. shld be here today.
reckon i will have more questions as the process begins.
