I need to make some snake skin wraps over the limbs of a bow I am making. I need them good for 1.5 inches wide, and enough to do 8 individual wraps. The wood is osage, I don't have a snake species preference. I have raw switch cane arrow shafts for trade. I can cut them up to 32 inches long, match the nodes, straighten them, and weight match plus or minus 15.4 grains. I do not have a means by which to spine test them right now. However, cane is much much more forgiving in spine than any wood dowel. And you can cut them a bit shorter to stiffen them up if need be. Scraps will work, a skin that you have no mate for, so long as I Have enough to do my job.
