Elm bow makes bacon
« on: April 08, 2013, 04:09:06 am »
Little elm bow makes a little bacon.  56 in ntn 60 ish lbs shoots real nice shot about 10 animals already.  Think it might make a good little bow for awhile! Built it in Nov. still going strong probably a thousand arrows thru it now.

Very nice...congrats. Allways nice to see selfbows and harvest;-)

You almost sound like you dont expect the bow to last years ???

For sure it is an effective bow, but is it the camera angle that makes the brace tiller look off? Congrats on the kill!

Trust me tillers not "off" shoots as smooth as can be!

Oh I see what ya mean top limb is facing hogs rear that make sense now?  Did not notice that til ya pointed it out.  About 3/16 pos tiller I draw with a real strong bottom finger so keep bottom limb pretty stiff for my personal bows.

Gotcha, thought that may be what it was. I Doubt I would notice a tiller off only 3/16th. I like the finish on it, any chance of some closeups?

Ya guys I am in Seattle right now but when I get back to Spokane I will take some pics and do a write up on the bow, be home Fri.  It turned out really nice silk backed and stained.  Then I shot a deer with it and threw it out of a tree to hustle down,  it hit a branch on the way down flipped back to the mail trunk and a tree step took a ding out of the top limb.  Just scraped it down sanded the ding out and put finish back on so now it has an area with no stain, I will say it has a "beauty" mark!
