my wife is a rather accomplished fiber artist.  she is currently working on a thick piece of wool felt foe me to place on the bottom of my leather quiver.  the wool is washed but should still have enough lanolin in it to keep the field points from rusting.  should work well with other points as well.  as it is hand felted, she can make it quite thick - i requested about half an inch.  ::)

furthermore, my wife informs me that felting is a rather old skill - older than weaving, keeping the primitive archer primitive  ;D

my wife started felting not long ago, its kind of an interesting thing to watch.
