52" red oak board recurve

This was more of an experiment for me than anything. I came across a 48" red oak board that was just perfect, but of course it was only 48". I decided to try glued on recurves, also red oak. The recurves added a few inches. I think it looks a bit funny having such chunky curves on such a thin limbed bow but i didn't have a lot of trust in the glued on curves. I was planning on a pretty light bow and this came in at about 30# at 24". there is a linen backing as well. It was fun to make, looks cool and actually shoots pretty good for what it is. I'm just surprised that this little piece of oak survived long enough to get a handle wrap! This was my first recurve of any kind, gotta start somewhere i guess.

I like it, you did a very good job on it. How does it shoot?

for being a light bow, with heavy tips i'd say it shoots OK.

all that extra mass on the tips won't keep the glue from failing, you could have done a simple wrap or glued a thin overlay and eased you mind, look's nice where's the fd, Bub
