60" BL bendy

I have a 62" BL stave that is 1.25 wide and 1" deep. I have never made a bend in the handle bow yet but this looks like the stave for it.
Going for 47@25.  Any pointers out there?   should I reduce width to 1 1/8 or 1"?  what about thickness, what kind of taper should I
try.   Have built many board bows and 7 from staves, all stiff handles.

Try this in the bows section, you will most likely get a lot more replies.

I would leave it 1.25 in Width until 10 inches from up the tips tapering to 1/2 in tips and .75 thick from the handle tapering to 5/8in at the tips for some extra weight during floor tillering. I have never worked black locust but I use these dimensions on hickory, elm and dogwood and it seems to work fine.

As long as you're not going for a draw over thirty inches that's plenty of locust to make a good hunting weight bow. I've made several no-taper 1" wide bows from locust and even drawn them past half their total length and it's all about a clean back and perfect tiller. Heat tempering is a big help and I've kept set on those designs under two inches.
