the dowels are to fill those holes in the limbs, they were originally gonna be a 3 pc takedown, bows been on the back burner for a while, i'm gonna take the sleeve and reduce it from the center both ways to give it a more comfy grip and reduce a little weight, got to get it on my father-in-laws lathe
