Red oak Mollegabet bow!

What do you think? I think it is turning out pretty good so far. It is floor tillering good. I am nervous about putting a string on it just yet, just dont want to ruin this beauty. Any thing I should do next? Should I back it and if so with what? I am thinking of raw hide.

How long is it?  Hard to tell from the pics, but I always round off the corners a bit with a good sanding.  Long string it and start bending it some.

Pics can be deceiving, but I don't see ANY thickness taper in either the levers or the working parts. As it stands now, you'll get two hinged inner limbs and two possibly bending levers (near the shoulders). I'd personally taper the bending limbs in WIDTH about 1/4" or 3/8", e.g. remove that amount of width from the current working limbs near the shoulders. You'll also need some thickness taper; maybe 1/8" or so.
Is that handle thick enough? It looks a bit thin (it may bend?).

Grain looks good from here, so a backing would not be necessary. But rawhide won't hurt at all.

What draw length and -weight are you aiming for? It looks like it won't make a heavy bow.
