thanks man, I'm kinda veering away from them some and building more stave bows, but still love building them, ain't nothing wrong with a board bow
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.

Hickory, Ash, Oak, Cherry(backed with rawhide).Working on an Elm right now. Tried a maple but it blew up.(too dry in the winter)

All very nice bows! Keep them coming! I'm thinking of an white oak board maybe a Eiffel Tower style tips! Stiff handle! Thanks for all the post so far.

Here's my "Alaskan take down molly" from red oak board. 4 pieces 68 lb @ 31" no metal used to hold it together.  cheers fiddler49
